Embroidery seems to run in my family; living in Budapest when communism ruled the east, my paternal grandmother relied on her embroidery skills to make a living, while sitting at her feet, she allowed me to help her with her work, and this awoke in me an interest and appreciation of the beauty of embroidered articles.
It was many years after her death (treasuring my inherited pieces) that the embroidery bug truly bit an left a firmly entrenched virus that I cherish, nurture and enjoy. Thus creating a desire to share this with all who dare to be creative. In our busy, modern lifestyles some (see embroidery time) as a luxury not allowed by most-I believe, you owe it to yourself, to take time out, to quieten your mind, relax your mood and allow your mind to become free, to explore a new world created by you. A piece of thread and a needle. So take up the challenge and steal back a few moments to rediscover yourself.
